Dnd 5e Dmg Player Options
- Nov 29, 2014 Delving into the 5e DMG Part 2. However that these assumptions are meant to be altered and twisted to make the world that the referee wants his players to adventure in. This and other comment throughout the DMG reinforces the 5e mantra of DnD your way that Wizards been using since the announcement of 5th edition.
- DMG, only if you have need of it. I only use mine for looking up magic items. Xanathar's and Volo's Guide are the two others you should be looking at. Xanathar's has a load of player options, while Volo's has some new playable races and new creatures, like a slightly smaller (and not quite as useful, IMO) Monster Manual.

New player rules for characters are tied to storyline
seasons. When you create a character, you choose
the story origin for the character, which defines what
rules you can use for the duration of the character’s
career. If you want to use a new rules option from a
book outside your character’s allowed rules, you need
to create a character with a story origin that allows that
rules option.

Hrm...so splatbooks are moved into the upcoming story arcs? So a Cult of the Spider Queen Story Arc (picking an old one at random) would contain relevant character options for the story. Iiiiinteresting. Could the era of straight splatbooks be going away?
